The Council of Licensed Firearms Owners (COLFO) has invited every candidate standing in the 2026 General Election to respond to a clear set of questions on firearms policy.
We want to know where individual candidates stand, not just their parties. Licensed firearm owners, hunters, club members and industry people deserve to hear directly from the people asking for their vote.
Help us get the questions in front of candidates
There are hundreds of candidates across the country. Tracking down every individual candidate page and contact form is difficult for a small organisation like COLFO.
This is where you can make a real difference.
If you know a candidate in your electorate (or further afield), please send them the briefing document and invite them to respond. The more candidates who receive it from local voters, the better the chance they will take the time to answer.
You can download the full briefing and questions here:
When you send it, you can simply say:
“COLFO has invited all candidates to respond to these questions on firearms policy. The responses will be published so voters can see where each candidate stands. I’d appreciate it if you could reply.”
What happens next
All responses we receive will be published on the COLFO website, including the candidate’s name and the region they are standing in. This gives our community a clear, side-by-side view of where candidates stand on the issues that matter to licensed firearm owners.
Thank you for helping us get these questions in front of as many candidates as possible.
Candidate Responses Received:
All responses will be uploaded here as they are received.
