Introduction

This month’s update covers several significant developments for licensed firearms owners.

The Arms Bill has completed its final reading and is heading for Royal Assent after more than six years of work. We would like to extend our congratulations and gratitude to Minister Nicole McKee and her team for delivering this for our community.

Our Trust and Confidence Survey has delivered clear findings that have already drawn a response from the Firearm Safety Authority. With the election period approaching, we are preparing practical information so members can compare party positions.

We also held a town hall examining whether licensed firearms owners still have free speech, and we spent time at the Hunting and Wildlife Expo connecting with the Minister and supporting businesses that stand with our community.
